In this issue of the show we have a special - Every 10 episodes I put together what I call a ’snippet’ show.
This helps new and existing listeners catch-up on the previous shows - a reminder / memory jogger of what is still available and hopefully for you to enjoy.
Your feedback on each show would be appreciated along with any requests.

In part two we feature a wonderful Shabad by Dya Singh (Australia), entitled: Jap man Satnaan, sedha Satnaam from the CD - Naam The Inner Journey.
NB the translation is communicated by Dya Singh as he performs the shabad.
Finally we end with an inspirational song by Sheryl Crow.
Yes it has been a while since the last set of programmes.
We’d love your feedback on the shows and I’d also like to say Thank you for all your patience.

Yes, our programmes are back and with a double release this week.
This one is a short episode recorded in December at the BBC studios and transmitted in the first week of January 2009. The BBC asked me to record a series of 5 Pause for Thought programmes as it was Guru Gobind Singh’s Birthday on 5th July.
The original transmission of these episodes was from 5th January to 9th January.
If you’ve missed them, here they are again.
Episode 43 will be in the new 3 part format: Understanding Sikhism, Shabad Translation and Inspirational words and songs - I hope this shorter format will help us to enjoy more programmes together.
We’d love your feedback on the shows.
Regards
Dr Savi

The need for more online resources to communicate who Sikhs are
Today is Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday.
It was wonderful to be asked by the BBC team based in Manchester to help produce 5 programmes (Pause for Thought) to coincide with celebrating the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The programmes can be caught on BBC Radio 2 every night for the next 5days from 5th Jan 2009 at both 1.30am and 3.30am. You can always listen again from the BBC i-player via http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2
I will also include them in future episodes of SIkhwithin.
Developing a programme is interesting from researching, scripting to finally recording and releasing for broadcast. With regard to the latter I received an email this morning that asked me to clarify references for evidence that the Moghul empire embarked on a campaign of ethnic cleansing.
The following links have been provided together with an email that I sent the BBC stating that at the time and also documented, the moghul emperors were increasingly influenced by Muslim Fakirs (priests) to gain heavenly rewards for the forced conversions.
We need to ensure that people know more about Sikhs, their heritage, what we stand for and our aims to help defend the defenceless.
I hope you like the programmes.
Best Regards
Dr Savi

Some References about Sikhs fighting the tyranny of the Moghuls.
Sikhiwiki is brilliant but we also need more information to be made public about how Sikhs helped free India from oppression.
